Shaler Twp Building Fire

Units were dispatched initially to the Motherhouse at 146 Hawthorne Rd in Millvale at the Mt Alvernia Complex for a fire alarm. Checking the building, the fire board read that there was a problem in the St. Claire Building of the complex, which is in Shaler. 264 began to check this building upon arrival and noticed a burning smell outside of the building. Crews gained entry and found smoke and high heat coming from the boiler room. Crews entered the boiler room, found that the boiler was indeed, on fire, and extinguished the burning vessel.
