Welcome to our website!  We take great pride here at Cherry City to provide the best fire and rescue operations around.  Our members come from a multitude of professions and backgrounds, which enables us to utilize their skills when needed on calls. We may be called out for just about anything anymore, as we are the “know-to, go-to” guys of the township.  If someone else can’t figure out a  problem, we are called out to attempt to mitigate that problem!

We also pride ourselves with providing an outstanding fire prevention service at the Marzolf Primary School and Mount Alvernia Daycare, in cooperation with Bauerstown VFD.  We bring a strong message of fire prevention for the children; Not playing with fire, getting out of a building if there is a fire or smoke inside, and generally staying safe if there is an incident, not to get scared but to be prepared.

Since becoming Chief, Cherry City has made progress in a lot of different ways. The percentage of firefighters coming up to calls has increased & the amount of active firefighters in the company has increased The call volume has also increased dramatically over the years as we are called to many different scenarios aside from just fires and alarms.  Our 2009 Ladder Truck is taking the brunt of the workload on most of the calls. Although it is over 10 years old, it runs as good as it did from the frst day we took ownership! Back in 2016, we replaced our 1996 Heavy Rescue with a 2016 Ford F550 with a 4 Guys Rescue Body on it. It has also seen a lot of work! Coming soon to Cherry City, we have ordered a new custom Engine from Seagrave Apparatus. This new engine will relieve some of the duties that the Ladder Truck is currently operating on. It will also give us a second apparatus capable of pumping water, in case one or the other has to go out for maintenance.

We always look forward to members of the community stopping by to see what we do and who we are.  We generally have somebody at the station most of the time, however members are guaranteed to be at the station on Tuesday evenings for Training/Meeting and Thursday Evenings for Bingo.  Please feel free to look through our pictures and see what we do!  Remember, come take a look around and consider becoming one of your neighborhood Volunteers!  You do not have to be a firefighter to be a member of our company! We are always looking for a few good helping hands!

Take Care of Yourself, and Each Other
