House Fire in Millvale

Early this afternoon, calls were pouring into the Allegheny County 9-1-1 center for a house on fire on William St near Lincoln Ave. Millvale Police arrived on scene with smoke showing and assisted the residents with evacuation. Fire units arrived on scene and began to work. Shortly after crews were gaining access to the 2nd floor, a smoke explosion occurred, causing Maydays to be called. Quick thinking by firefighters outside in staging got all of the firefighters out with minimal injuries. The fire was contained shortly after the incident and is under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal.
