Early Morning House Fire in Etna

04:58 – Shortly before 5 in the morning, calls were coming into the Allegheny County 9-1-1 Center for reports of a house on fire on Bridge St in Etna. Our Truck crew, along with the Truck crew from Millvale were assigned primary search of the residence. Our crews searched the first floor with no findings, however Millvale VFD advised that they had a victim and the Cherry City crew linked up with them to get the patient out of the house. The fire victim was worked on by firefighters and EMS after they brought them out of the house, however the victim succumbed to her injuries. Another male in the house suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to a local hospital by EMS. The fire was deemed under control within the hour, however it was a tough scene to be on once things calmed down.
