Overnight House Fire in Sharpsburg
Around 1:45AM, the Allegheny County 9-1-1 call center received a call for smoke in the basement at a house in the 1800 Block of Main St in Sharpsburg. Sharpsburg’s Assistant Chief, Mike Daniher, arrived on scene and reported smoke showing. The police were also on scene at the same time reporting that there was a working fire in the rear of one of the houses, possibly from a kitchen area. Engine companies pushing in found a basement fire that had spread to the first floor of the residence. Cherry City VFC Truck crew was tasked to conduct a primary search of the house, securing egress with the use of ground ladders and overhauling the fire room / area. After working for a little over 90 minutes, the Truck was returned back in service and the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s office was investigating the cause of the fire.
