Tonight, a group of our firefighters seeking their Firefighter 1 Certificate practiced a few events in the Firefighter 1 Practical Test, to include Ladder Placement, Conscious Victim Rescue, Hoseline Advancement up a Ladder and Hoseline Advancement in a Stairwell. We are currently seeking our Silver (75%) and possibly a Gold (100%) certification level in the Pennsylvania Participating Department Recognition Level of Certification. Participating Department is a program that Commonwealth emergency responders have an opportunity to participate in and be recognized as a certified fire professional at various levels in accordance with nationally recognized and sanctioned Professional Qualification standards. The purpose is to recognize those organizations that support, promote, and encourage their emergency response personnel to voluntarily certify within the Commonwealth’s Certification Program administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. Currently, we have a Bronze (50%) certification level. Keep up the great work guys!
