Fully Involved House Fire in Shaler

02:37 – A structure fire was reported in the 600 Block of Spencer Ln Ext shortly after 2:30AM. 260 Truck was on the road as a Rapid Intervention Team with a crew of 6 and arrived to a 1/4 Mile long driveway with no access for the truck to get close to the scene. 149 (Etna) had laid a supply line down the lane and shortly after charging that line, a hole blew through the line about the 800′ mark, causing units to only use tank water initially. A second supply line was established coming from the opposite end of the lane. The bulk of the fire was knocked down within the first hour of operations. 260 RIT was re-assigned to suppression operations after it was determined that nobody would be entering the partially collapsed structure. 260 continued to operate until about 6AM when we were released to get back in service to help cover any other emergencies in the township.
