Water Rescue on the Allegheny River

Last night around 2240 hours, 102 (Southern Allegheny Valley) 149 (Etna), 111 (Blawnox), and 260 (Cherry City) were dispatched for a male who was yelling for help in the area of Bridge Street. Etna and Millvale police located the victim in the Allegheny River where Pine Creek goes into the river. 102/149 set up on the Etna River Trail lowering a rescuer to assess the patient. 111 jet ski’s were deployed for safety and 260 boat extricated the victim and rescuer from the water and returned to shore with EMS waiting. Great work by all agencies on scene.
