House Fire in the First Due

Around 0200 hours this morning, companies 260 & 191 were alerted for an electrical line sparking near the intersection of Erin Street and Oakwood Street. Shaler police and 260 chief arrived to find a working house fire. The assignment was upgraded bringing in multiple other departments. 260 truck acted as the first due engine and stretched an 1.75 hose line and began extinguishing the fire. Engine 259 supplied water to 260 truck while engine 247 took a secondary water supply and stretched a back up line. 264/297 trucks were the inside truck crews searching and opening up. Engine & truck 102 assisted with ventilation and opening up the exterior wall. This marks the 2nd working fire in our district since January 1.

Cause of the fire is being investigated by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s office.
