2 Vehicles Crash into a Building

Just before 1900 hours on 5/26, The Cherry CIty Volunteers were on the way to training when a call came over the radio for a vehicle crash into a building with entrapment and possibly on fire. 260 Rescue arrived on scene within a minute of dispatch and discovered 2 vehicles into a building with heavy structural damage, 1 trapped occupant and no fire. 260 Rescue began stabilization of the vehicles and the initial building stabilization while 149RQ began extrication. Crews had the patient out quickly and care was transferred over to EMS. Following, the focus shifted toward the structural stability of the building. Rescues 260, 149, & 102 began an assessment of the damage and began shoring the building from the basement all the way up to the 2nd floor due to the significant damage. Crews remained on scene for over 4 hours working diligintly and effectively to secure the building. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the driver for a speedy and thorough recovery.
